First of all, the service is quick. No menus, its old school style dim sum carts coming by the table. Each cart w steaming dim sum. The food is hot and fresh. The Pork/Shrimp Shu Mai was delicious. Meat was over flowing and simply seasoned not to cover the flavor of the meat. Pork ribs were delicious. Meat was slightly sweet and meat fell off the bone. The ribs were more boney w some meat. I am not sure what else I had because of a language barrier. One dish was shrimp in steamed rice rolls. Which was simple and good. I used the dipping sauce on the table since there was more rice roll ratio to shrimp. The rice noodle/wrap is plain tasting. Another dish was chicken feet. Ive had chicken feet before. This had good flavor but not my thing. The feet have no meat. Its just gelatinous skin and lots of bone. We came early 10:00 am for breakfast and just best the crowds. We were immediately seated but as we left the restaurant was full and a line was forming. I would recommend this place for dim sum. We tried 5 dishes and there were many other dim sum we did not try.

It's been a while since I've been here for dim sum. They still have the old school cart ladies who bring their carts full of delectable dim sum goodness. Many carts are just stacked sky high, and as they open the container, all that steam (aka smells) escapes and just makes you want to get one of each. Other carts with the windows allow you to visualize them as they are walking by. The food here is amazing. It is extremely good and authentic. Prices have gone up, but that's the case all over. The variety is just unbelievable!!! Customer service is expected. Loud, minimal English. They swarm your table at times with multiple carts, trying to drop the mother load on you. Then, at other times, you can't find any of them at all, and you have to try and flag them down. Bathrooms are tiny and disgustingly dirty. Which then makes me kind of wonder what else behind the scene is subpar. But then again since I didn't get sick I try not to think of it. There's many other dimsum places that offer better food and service. But the line when we arrived must've been at least 60 people long. Fortunately, our large group was seated quickly. But I think why it's so popular here is you get to experience the carts rolling by. They are calling out and trying to "sell" their different dishes from their cart. It's a dying experience. But it's definitely an experience that newcomers are mostly in awe of!!

Had dinner last night at New Capital Seafood in Hacienda Heights. They have a special promotion on their live Alaskan King Crab. You must order $70.00 of other dishes, then the price of the Crab is $19.99/pound. Our crab was just under 8 pounds. We had it prepared per the waiters advise to have it steamed with garlic. It came with clear/glass noodles. Wow, great flavor, with a mild garlic taste. We had a lot of left-overs. Must order: Alaskan King Crab. Stars: 5

I have been going to New Capital for years! Their dim sum is legit...like old school legit! I'm half Canto so I have the credentials, lol! The good 1. Shumai - OMG, if it isn't exploding in pork, then that's not shumai! 2. Tendon - No one does this anymore!?! Every coworker and friend who has tried this loves the flavors! 3. Football - No, not actual football. Lol, they just look like it. Filled with pork and other yummy filling; they are just delicious! I love Dim Sum and always encourage it! I am glad New Capital still has the OG push carts! Experience it while you can! If you are still reading this...my list of what dim to eat goes much longer!

I haven't been back here in probably over 8 years but if you want the nostalgia of dim sum carts, this is the only place in the area that still offers that experience Didn't have to wait on a Sunday around 130pm which was nice! I honestly used to hate the carts because I'd rather not have to wait for the dishes I want, but then I realized it's kind of fun being surprised (they offer more variety than other dim sum spots) ALL of the staff and waiters were super nice, great service which usually isn't expected at these type of places ---har gow: yummy chewy skin ---Shumai: flavorful and realized they had no shrimp or mushrooms, just pork which explains the flavor haha ---chicken feet: well cooked ---beef tendon: never had this at dim sum! Majority of the pieces were so perfectly chewy yummy ---Mango pudding: wow when did they switch to such large portions! So nostalgic for me! ---fried pan fried taro cake: this was addicting ---spare ribs/tripe/congee: these were ehh dishes for me I guess I'll have to put this spot back into the dim sum rotation!
